MIAMI DOLPHIN FISHING
Miami Dolphin fishing is probably the most common type of fishing in Miami. Don’t confuse Dolphin fishing in Miami with trying to catch flipper. The dolphin fish (known by most as Mahi Mahi or also called Dorado) is one of the most beautiful and aggressive fish that you can catch while in Miami.
Mahi Mahi has compressed bodies and long dorsal fins that are adorned with brilliant shades of blue, yellow, green, and silver. Miami Mahi Mahi is a fast-growing fish, and most weigh between 15 and 30 pounds. They are also delicious to eat and have a clean, mild taste. Because of the speed at which they grow and reproduce, many environmental organizations and fisheries give a thumbs up to Dolphin fishing in Miami since the population has no trouble sustaining itself, so come catch a few!
WHEN TO CATCH MAHI MAHI IN MIAMI
Usually caught heavily between April and August off of Miami Beach, Mahi (Dolphins) are caught year-round and reach large and impressive sizes during the winter months. As we mentioned above, Mahi is always good to eat, and it will always remain a favorite catch and food!
